"BOOT PUT IN."

LADS FIGHT IN QUAY STREET

Ivan Stevens (17) and Eric Owen Dwight (19) pleaded guilty when charged with fighting, at the Police Court this morning. " These two are only lad?, but harboured some grievance, so they went to a vacant section near the dock site in Quay Street on Saturday night, and were having a really good fight when a constable came along," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. " Such a section, near the waterfront, is not a good place for a fight, especially when there are so many men about the vicinity. It was a fair fight until one 'put the boot in.'" Mr. McCarthy added that although very young both accused had been before the Court for drunkenness before.

Each was fined £1
