WHANGAREI NOTES.

Mrs. H. Eochfort, Powhiri Avenue, left on Friday on a holiday trip to Christclmrch. Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Wallis, of Sarsfield Street, Heme Bay, are in Whangarei - visiting Mrs. Cox's daughter, Mrs. Webster. . Mrs. J. Kerr, Hikurangi, is visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.,A. K. McGregor, Carterton. Mrs. McDonald spent the Labour Bay week-end in Auckland. Miss Lamb visited Mrs. YVeston -Arnold, Marohemo, during the week-end. Mrs. N. K Crimp has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Bevin, Hamilton,, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Bevin, Graham Street. Miss Law, national general secretary, ,Y.\V.C.A., New Zealand, is coming to Whangarei, and will be the guest of the Hostel from Novemr bcr 1 to .9. A public meeting to enable people the meet Miss Law will be held in the Presbyterian Hall. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Jordan, of Woodlands, Southland, arc spending an extended holiday with their daughter, Mrs. L. A. Kay, Baptist Manse, Bank Street. Mr. and Mrs. John Knight have returned from a trip to Honolulu and Sydney, and are expected in Whangarei shortly. Mrs. Trezise returned oh Thursday from a trip north by motor to Whangaroa, and left on Friday for her home in Remuera. Mrs. Sowman, Kaikohe, was a visitor to Whangarei for the Northland Trotting Club's spring meeting. Miss G. E. Sargent has returned to Whangarei. after an enjoyable holiday spent in Auckland and the Waikato. Miss Pclita held a very successful dance in'the Regent Hall on Monday night as a'windup to the Labour' Day week-end./ Excellent dance music was supplied by Miss Freda Skellern's Orchestra, and there was a large number present, among the ladies being: Mcsdames Johnson, Ft Anderson, G. Allen, Litehfield, Birnie, S. Wells, and Misses Pclita, N. Watson, Peacock, G. Good, P. Ncary, L. Williams, E. Peacock, Richards, N. Valder, B. Richards, N. O'Grady. N. Holloway, B. Murray. D.
