SUGGESTED GISBORNE VISIT
BAT FOR E. HORSPOOL
Members of the Auckland Cricket Association's Management Committee met last evening, Mr. E. E. Nalder pre-
siding. During discussion on the proposal to send a team to Gisborne the Christmas holidays, Mr. Shaw said it would cost the players from £10 to £12 each for the trip. The matter was left in the hands of a sub-committee.
Permission to practice at Victoria Park instead of at the Domain on two evenings a wfeek was granted United Suburbs Club.
The secretary of the Auckland Secondary Schools' Association notified that Mr. W. Harwood had been appointed the association's representative on the Management Committee in place of Mi. F. Bennett, .10 was not available.
The bat presented by Mr. F. W. Matthews for the play&r making the first century of the season was awarded to E. Horspool. Mr. J. H. Watts' offer of a bat to the player below first grade scoring the first century was accepted with thanks.
It wfjs agreed that the matches between Eden and Parnell and University and United Suburbs, which were not played on Labour Day, be declared drawn, and each team be awarded two points. It was stated that the coach (A. F. Wensley) is to commence his duties 011 Thursday afternoon at the Training College. Considerable discussion took place concerning the number of teams to be admitted to the senior B grade. It was finally decided that the number of teams be limited to ten. The King's College Old Boys' team was admitted to this grade, and Windmill, which finished at the bottom.of the list last season, was relegated to second grade. The application of Mount Albert was declined in favour of Balmoral, which finished ahead of Windmill last year.
An application from the Aotearoa Jiub for financial assistance was declined.
