ROSE FAIR.
All Saints' Parish Hall was transformed into a rose garden yesterday, when a plain and fancy fair was held in aid of the painting of All Saints' Church, Ponsonby. All shades of fragrant and artificial roses were used for the trellised pagodas, streamers in the same tones forming a domed ceiling. Mrs. W. H. Parkes opened the gathering. She was presented with a pink rose shower bouquet. The Rev. Mr. Chitty and Mrs. Pawson's orchestra provided music for the afternoon and evening. The judges were Miss Grace and Mr. Elmesly. Stallholders were: Guild stall, Mrs. Palmer, Mrs. Tate, Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Currie, Mrs. Coppins; novelty stall, Mrs. V. Usher, Mrs. Shrubsall, Mrs. Worsfold, Misses Worsfold and Manning; curates egg, Eev. A. A. Averill and Mr. Reynolds; sweet stall, Mrs. Ponsford and Miss Gertie Thompson; cakes, ?!rs. English, Mrs. Seager, Mrs. C. H. Palmer; variety, Mrs. O'Brien and Mrs. Matthews; flowers, Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Morley; produce, Mrs. Goldie, Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. Billington, Mrs. Manning, Mrs. J. R. Self, Mrs. Thomson; afternoon tea, Mrs. D'Audney and Mrs. De Burg.
