N.Z. ROUGH-RIDER

Killed While Breaking-In Young Horse. NEW SOUTH WALES TRAGEDY. (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Maurice, otherwise "Bud," Bourke, aged 24, of New Zealand, was killed at Scone, New South Wales, while he was breaking-in a young horse. The animal fell on him, causing concussion. Deceased, who was a well-known rough-rider and horse-breaker, was understood to have been the champion horseman of New Zealand and the "winner of five medals, also the 1929 championship of Australia. He was here on a holiday with a New Zealand companion named "Buck" Harrison. Deceased was interred at Aberdeen to-day.
