SEAMAN SMASHES WINDOW.
Following an argument ami the smashing of a window at a fish shop in Victoria Street yesterday, Thomas Kelly (.33), a Maori seaman and labourer, was arrested 011 charges of drunkenness and committing mischief by wilfully damaging a window valued at £<}. This morning, at the Police Court, Kelly admitted the first charge, but denied the second, statins; that he did not remember anything about a broken window. The police said that Kelly entered the fish shop where he entered into an argument with the proprietor. Because he could not pet his own way he put his foot through a large window. Keliv was fined 10/ or 48 hours' imprisonment for drunkenness, and on the other charge was convicted and ordered to make good the damage done.
