KAURI GUM.
DEMAND AND PRICES IMPROVE,
HEAVY SUPPLIES EXPECTED.
The firm demand which has existed for most grades of gum of late now extends to the grade 82, which, for some time, hung fire. During the past fortnight all grades of gum have sold freely at improved prices. All grades are being sent in from the diggings as soon as they are dug. As a result of the fine weather and the assurance of a ready sale for all gum produced, more diggers are going back to the fields and very heavy supplies are expected to arrive this week. It is thought that this shipment will be the largest for some months.
