WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.
STANWELL—ALLAN. The marriage took' place 011 Wednesday afternoon of Beryl Francis, only daughter of Mr. J. A. Allan, to Douglas C. C., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Stanwell, of Mo'rningsidc. The ceremony took place at the residence of the bride's father at Great South Road. The bride, 'who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of white satin with georgette sleeves and silver, and a veil of white tulle falling from an orange blossom coronet. She also carried a pink and white bouquet, with white streamers. She was attended by Miss Winnie Carter, of Waikato, who was dressed in a dainty frock of apricot taffeta with net mob cap to match and carried a mauve bouquet with streamers. The Rev. A. Mitchell performed the ceremony and Mr. Trevor Stanwell acted as best man. A wedding breakfast was given and the usual toasts were honoured. SARNEY—HILL. The marriage took place at the Holy Sepulchre's Church, Auckland, yesterday evening of Inez Xaylor, the daughter of ilr. A. Hill, New Lynn, to Henry, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Sarney, Grey Lynn. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore pink georgette over ivory satin. The veil was of tulle edged with Chantilly lace, held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and slie carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Glover, wore rose crepe de chine and a headdress of tulle and carried a bouquet of irises and Iceland poppies. Little Rowena Larsen, niece of the bridegroom, wore an early period dress of lemon net over satin with a bouquet of pansics. • Mr. J. Hill was best man. The Rev. Gordon -Bell performed the ceremony. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Gaiety Hall, Surrey Crescent, where the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. D.- Sarney, was hostess, and wore a gown of navy crepe de chine faced with fawn and hat to match.
