MELBOURNE, this day.
At Caulfield Pilar Lap, assisted by Eillom and Moocliaway, did niue furlongs on the course proper in 2.0. He moved freely and pulled up well. Taisho. Camargo, Pamphleteer and Lady Kentiel, finishing in that order, did a mile in 1.46*. Fashion did five furlongs on the grass in 1.3, and Deniost nine furlongs in 2.1 A. Kandala and Belle Gallante were not extended over a mile on the course proper, which they covered in 1.53*. Finsbury and Ithuriel ran ten furlongs in 2.15*. Parsee and Treat ran six furlongs on the grass in '1.18. Micawb'erite and - Debenture, finishing together, did four furlongs in 4S*s. Third King, with W. Duncan up, did extra well over ten furlongs on the grass in 2.12 V. Elrey ran six furlongs in 1.19. Quick. Reward did the best mile, taking 1.43. Tliurlestone went better than Kaftan over four furlongs in 48As, and Prince Don did eleven furlongs on the grass in 2.26 *.
