ORCHARDIST'S DEATH.

GUN ALONGSIDE BODY.

An orchardist, Mr. Robert Armstrong, a single man, aged 40 years, was found dead yesterday. For some time he had been in ill-health. The body was found on the property, some distance from the house, by one of the neighbours. A gun was lying alongside the dead man. An inquest is to be held by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.

Harold Wadsworth, a porter employed at the Thorndon railway station, Wellington, was killed on the road between Foxton and Sanson at 11 o'clock this morning. He was riding a motor cycle at the time with a man on the machine behind him, and on passing a motor car he was struck by the running-board and killed. Mr. Wadsworth was a single man, with no relatives in New Zealand. He resided at 19, Glenbervie Terrace, Wellington, and prior to joining the railway service he resided in Onehunga. His parents live in Yorkshire. He was 21 years of age.

COLLISION AT ROTORTJA. CAMBRIDGE CAR DAMAGED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. Yesterday afternoon two cars collided at cross-roads, and one car containing a party of Cambridge people, ran of! tlio road, struck a telegraph pole, which tore off the mudguard and bent the front axle. The occupants of the car were severely shaken. One girl sustained a fractured wrist and another a cut on the head. They received medical attention. The other car was not damaged. DEATH OF CHINESE. The Chinese lad, Pu Fing, aged 19, who was injured in the motor accident in Remuera Road yesterday afteilioon, died last night in *tlie Auckland Hospital. Both Fing and the driver (Wai Poi) were injured, but the latter was not seriously hurt. The accident happened through the driver of the motor van being startled when Pu Fing lost his hat and lurched out to catch it. The van swerved and hit a tramway pole so hard as to crack it. YOUNG MAN BREAKS ANKLE. While holidaying at Oneroa Beach, Waiheke, yesterday, Mr. J. White, aged 20, of 39, Sussex Street, Grey Lynn, fell some 25ft down a cliff and broke his right ankle.
