NEW HALL AT POKENO.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) POKENO, this day.

The new hall at Pokeno was officially opened on Saturday night by Mr. J. Dean, chairman of the Franklin Power Board. The hall had been decorated and visitors were present from a wide area. The new building is 74ft long and 50ft wide. The stage is 14ft wideband is lined with stained rimu. Provision for a moving picture machine has been made. The old school hall, which is 43ft long and 20ft wide, is attached to the side of the new building by a lobby. It will be used as a supper room.
