GOLF.

AUCKLAND CLUB. In the final of the Auckland Club's junior championship on Saturday A. L. Stedman beat B. Elliott at the 37th hole. In the morning the players were all squave at the 17th hole, but with a line three Stedman became 1 up at the 18th. Elliott gained the lead at the 22nd hole, when he was 1 up. From then on both played good golf. Elliott was still 1 iip with 2 to play. With a fine four at the 35th Stedman made the match all square, and the last hole was halved in 5. Stedman missed a short putt at the 37th. Elliott hooked his drive into an impossible position and lost his ball. He had to go back and play three from the tee, Stedman winning 5 to 6. The match between W. S. Ralph and W. N. Abbott in the semi-final for the senior championship will be played during the week. The winner will meet E. L. Bartleet in the final on Saturday.

MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB'S TOURNEY. Although the course was considered to be in good order and weather conditions were favourable, poor scores were returned in Saturday morning's round in the open tournament of the Maungakiekie Golf Club at Titirangi. Three events —the open medal championship, the open medal handicap, and the qualifying round for the Titirangi Cup—were played. Results were as follows:— Open Medal Championship.—W. GLENDOWIE LADIES. The annual meeting of the Glendowie Ladies' Club was held at the clubhouse on Saturday, when there was a.very good attendance of members. AKARANA CLUB. The flag competition held by the Akarana Club on Saturday, resulted in a win for W. T. Dobson, who carried the flag to the twentieth green. The closing day will be held nest Saturday, when a mixed foursomes competition for the Kohn Rose Bowl will be played. The prize giving will take place at 4.45 on Saturday afternoon.

HAMILTON CLUB. HAMILTON, Sunday. The Hamilton Golf Club held a bogey consolation handicap yesterday, open to those who had not won a prize during the. season. The best cards returned were: James, 4 up; Atkins, 2 up; Cleary, 1 up; Gunn, 1 up.
