PUKEKOHE, this day. The opening matches in the Pukekohe Cricket Association's senior competition were completed on Saturday. Waiuku scored a four-point win from Wesley College, .at Waiuku. College's first innings yielded 36 (Hickling 18), and Waiuku's first innings 189 (Howdeh,. retired 73„ Cooper 31,'Duthie 20, Bathgate 17, Heise 15). College added 84 runs (Proctor 28, Hickling 19, Shepherd 10) in its second innings, leaving Waiuku winners by an innings and 69 runs. At Karaka, Pukekohe Technical High School secured a three-point win from Karaka. Karaka batted first and made 102 (G. Zinzan 60, Ashworth 24). High School responded with 145 (Taylor 65, Brooks 24, Deano 17, Wharf e 11). In the second innings Karaka made 71 (M. Brooke 30, Green not out 18), while High' School, in its second innings, made 34 for seven wickets (Wbarfd 11). Bowling for High School V. Zinzan took eleven wickets for 47 runs, H. BAY OF PLENTY ASSOCIATION. WHAKATANE, Friday. The second annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Cricket Association was held at Matata. There were delegates from Whakatane, Waimana, Matata and Te Puke. The second innings is to be played next Saturday. For Te Aroha the. best scores were: Boyd 16, McGlashan 18, and Jackson 29. For Waharoa Ayers made 29 not out. WELLINGTON. The senior cricket competitions were continued in fine weather. University, 336, beat Old Boys, 334. Hutt, 234, beat Wellington, 201, and one wicket for 108. Petone, 206 and .seven wickets for 70, beat Institute, 175. Kilbirnie, 167, and six wickets for lIS (declared), beat Midland, 101, and six wickets for 96. The best performances were: —Batting: 11. M.
