RACING AT CAMBRIDGE.

Outsider Wins Maiden Hunters.

The Waikato Hunt Cluh's annual meeting Avas held on the trotting course at Cambridge to-day. The weather was dull. There was a large attendance, and tho course was in good order. Backers started off badly in the Maiden Hunters' Steeplechase, Rodger, tho seventh favourite in the field of seven horses, winning easily. There was only £180 invested on his chance. Backers installed Haeremai, the favourite, with £630, Nabob with £525 and Foxhound, £352, being the next fancies. Townsman and Maungakawa were quickest to the first fence, where Foxhound hit hard. Maungakawa led along the back and over the stand double, followed by Nabob, Townsman, Rodger. Taha Haeremai and Foxhound. Along the back the last time the order was Nabob, Maungakawa. Townsman, Rodger, Taha and Haeremai. Rodger took charge across the top, and led into the straight clear of Nabob. Taha, Haeremai and Foxhound. Rodger won easily from Taha by three lengths, Haeremai being one and a half lengths away third. Foxhound was fourth, and them.came Nabob and Maungakawa.

Two Division Handicap. Tasty was made a warm favourite for the Bardowie Handicap, which was run in two divisions. Tasty carried £bjo, and on the second favourite, the To HoiaTuku bracket was invested £580, and on the Volimond-Welcome Boy bracket £511. Valroe, which won the first division, carried £492 10/. In the first division Valroe was the early leader from Parfait Armour, Tasty, Val Simon and Nassau Lady. Valroe still had charge crossing the top and into the homo turn, with Parfait Amour, Tasty and Belle Star following. Valroe went on to win comfortably from Parfait Amour by two and a half lengths, with Tasty two lengths behind. Nassau Lady was fourth. Then finished Joy Girl, Belle Star, Val Simon and Town Fancy. Patere jumped out smartly m the race for the second division from Oscar, Volimond, Coll and Te Hoia. However, Volimond took charge going across the top from Tuku .Patere, Oscar and Te Hoia. Volimond was first into the straight from Tuku, Patere, Oscar and Te Hoia. passed the judge's box three lengths clear of Te Hoia, who beat Mareschal by one and a half, lengths for third place. The fourth to finish was Coll, and then came Oscar, Patere, Tuku, Abbey Queen, Ruby Dawn and Antique. Omeo Lifts Hurdles. Marita was the only defection in the Hunters' Hurdle Race, for which Democratic with £1022 was the prime fancy. With £G26 Spalpik'o was the next choice, and Master Rowley (£427) the third selection. Spalpiko took charge in the early stages and led past the stands from Master Rowley, Luminary, Democratic, Omeo, Calithe, Night Comet, Bracken Abbey aud Archangel, who got away badly. Along the back the order was Spalpiko, Luminary, Master Rowley, Omeo, Calithe, Democratic and Mashoor. Omeo ran up just behind Spalpiko crossing the top. Master Rowley was third, and then followed Democratic, Calithe, Mashoor and Luminary. Spalpiko led into the straight from Omeo, Master Rowley, Calithe, Democratic and Luminary. Once over the last fence Omeo forged ahead to score an easy win by four lengths from Calithe, with Spalpiko two and a half lengths away, third. Master Rowley was fourth. Then came Luminary, Democratic, Soami, Mashoor and Night Comet.
