WHAKATANE V. OTAKIRI. WHAKATANE, Friday. Some interesting exhibitions of Badminton were witnessed by a laige gathering at the Parish Hall last night, when a team from Otakiri visited Whakatane. Although Otakiri possessed a strong team and contested all games to a close iinisli, Whakatane amassed a large score, which gave them an advantage of 152 points. The games concluded at 21 to 3 in Whakatane's favour. Following are the individual matches, the Otakiri players being mentioned first:— Men's Singles—Cato beat Ramson by 15 points to 12; Fulford lost to Howard by 15 to 10; Lloyd lost to Morgan by 12 to 15; Waite- lost to Oswald by 6 to 15; Miller lost to Wilson by 12 to 15; Whalley lost to Allan by 0 to 15. Ladies' Singles. —Miss Tucker beat Miss Morgan by 15 to 13; Miss Cumin in <*s lost to Mrs. Timbs by 11 to lo; Miss Lewis lost to Miss Holmes by 4 to 15; Mrs. Rutherford lost to Miss H. Morgan by 13 to 15; Miss Torrens, lost to Mrs. Lambert by 5 to 15; Miss McGuire lost to Mrs. Smallfield by 1 to 10. Men's Doubles—Fulford and Oato lost to Ramson and Howard by 9 to 15; Lloyd and Miller lost to Oswald and Morgan by 11 to 16; Waite and Whalley lost to Allan and Wilson by 8 to 15.
