QUEEN'S IRE ROUSED.
Reported Outburst By Marie Of Rumania. GOVERNMENT AND REGENCY. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) BUCHAREST, October 16. A considerable stir has been caused in Rumania by a reported outburst by the Dowager Queen Marie against the Government. Dr. Buzdugan, one of the three members of the Regency Council, died recently, and Dr. Saratzeanu was appointed as his successor. It is reported that the Queen wanted the vacant seat. This, it is rumoured, the Government was willing to give her if Prince Nicholas would resign. The suggestion apparently roused Marie's ire. In the course of an interview published in a newspaper she says: "I would never dream of replacing Prince Nicholas. If the Government considers that a predominance of the Royal Family on the' Regency Council is dangerous, that is proof that Queen Marie of the Government itRumania, self is seeking to rule the country by influencing the Regency." The Government has asked Marie for an explanation. It is stated that if she confirms the statements attributed to her the Prime Minister, M. Maniu, inus't resign. .
