It was decided to write to the riders concerned, asking for an explanation. Concerning the Timaru-Christchurch races, the chairman. Mr. W. J. Walter, said that the race had been a success, but there was one thing that should, be dealt with. and that was that several riders had been given rides in cars for part of the journey, and when near Chrlstehurch they got out and completed the journey cycling rnnnd the show grounds. Those riders should be dealt with. Mr. J. M. Coffey said that they should deal very severply with those riders and other riders cycling round the course and upsetting the judging. Two years ago riders had been cautioned for that offence, and last ye.T they had been similarly dealt with. With snifh men on the course It made it extremely difficult to make correct p lacings. He considered that the riders should be disqualified this year. The union hnd the public to consider. The chairman said that all the riders had owned np like men. and had admitted that they had made a mistake. They had thought that there was a considerable number of men in front of them.
