SALVATION ARMY.
COMMISSIONER HAY FAREWELLED.
A series of farewell functions will be held in the week-end by Commissioner and Mr?. James Hay of the Salvation Army, who have been transferred to the eastern territory of fCanada. They will arrive in Auckland on Saturday r-orn-ing, and will leave by the Niagara on Tuesday. There will be services on Sunday in the Congress Hall, Grey's Avenue, and in the afternoon. Commissioner Hay will speak on "The Salvation Army in New Zealand." The Mayor, Mr. George Baildon, will preside. A final farewell meeting will be held on Monday night, preceded by a street procession headed by the combined pipe and Congress Tall Bands. Commissioner Hay will be succeeded by Commissioner John Cunningham, who is due to arrive from England early in November.
