MYOCEVIOH GETS PROBATION. " NOTHING IN MITIGATION." ■ ■"NEEDED LOOKING AFTER." Arnold Myocevich, aged 18, who yesterday admitted stealing £12 6/3 belonging to his father, appeared for sentence at the Police Court this morning. . . ../■■. Mr. Alan Smyth, who . represented accused, said it was impossible to say anything in mitigation of Myocevich's offence. However, he was only 18 years of age, and had not been in trouble since he was a juvenile. Accused was a youth who might do well if placed on probation. He could., get - a position and pay back what, he had stolen fr,om his father. The' Probation Officer," Mr.. W. J. Campbell, said Myocevich needed to be looked after. "I doubt : very much whether he will do any good on probation," added Mr. Campbell,"but your Worship could try. him and. if he does not behave and carry out the terms of his release, % can bring him before the Court straightaway." In admitting Myocevich to .probation for two years, Mr. Hunt warned, him': that the slightest slip on his part would mean two or three years in the. Borstal Institute. Myocevich was ordered to make restitution in full.
