SERIES OF MURDERS.
MODERN JACK THE RIPPER. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) BERLIN, October 14. The police at Dusseldorf are baffled by a series of murders extending over seven months similar to the Jack the Kipper outrages. In each case the victim was a woman or a girl, and the instrument used was usually a knife. No attempts to rob the victims were made, so that the police believe that they have been committed by an insane womanhater. Since February, fifteen attempts at murder have been made and seven of them proved fatal.
