PIAKO ASSOCIATION

MATAMATA, this day,
The annual meeting of the Piako Cricket Association was held at Waharoa on Saturday evening. Delegates were present from the Gordon, Waharoa, Matamata, Manawaru, Morrinsville, Te Aroha and Wardville Clubs. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £7. The officers were elected as follow:—President, Mr. F. Montague; vicepresidents, Messrs. B. Bowler (Matamata), G. Sheehan (Manawaru), W. Marshall (Paeroa), Dr. Lawrence (Te Aroha),, W. A. Wright (Manawaru), P. S. (Morrinsville), W. McLean (Walton), executive committee, Messrs. F. C. Hanson, W.J. Aitken, J. Waters, F. Montague and L Stone; selectors, south section, Mr a. Montague, north section, Mr. W. J. Aitken ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. atone (Waihou); auditor, Mr. W. McPherson. It was decided to commence the competitions on Saturday, October 26, all matches to be two-day fixtures. The draw for the first round is as follows:-— • ' • North Section.—Te Aroha High School v. Te Aroha A; Morrinsville B v. MomnsVll South Section.—Wardville v. Matamata; Gordon v. Manawaru. The Paeroa Club withdrew from the association. '
