NEW OWNERS OF CARS
FIXES TO BE "HARDENED UP."
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WANGANUI, this day. Recently the Wanganui police have prosecuted a large number of motorists for breaches of the motor regulations. Senior Sergeant McLean intimated at the Court to-day that in making inquiries the police found that in fully nine per cent of the cases there were irregularities in regard to change of ownership, and that the new owners had neglected to obtain an endorsed certificate. This involved a considerable amount of work to the police. The magistrate, Mr. Salmon, agreed that these cases were far too numerous, and promised to "harden up" the fines in future.
