CHINESE PICNIC.

JAUNT TO PINE ISLAND,

In a picnic to Pine Island the Chinese residents of Auckland yesterday celebrated the eighteenth anniversary of the establishment of a republican rule in China. A considerable number of Europeans joined in the celebration and travelled with the Chinese holidnvmakers in the ferry steamer Peregrine, which was bedecked for the occasion with Chinese banners.
