MANGERE EAST GREEN,

Tho official opening of the Mangere East Croquet green took place on Saturday, when Mrs. W. R. Burrett (vicepresident), in the absence of Mrs. Soloman (president) welcomed tho visitors. These included Mrs. Schnauer, Mrs. Keesing (president and secretary of the Auckland Croquet Association). A progressive tonrnament was played, Mrs. Clarkson, of Carlton, winning the A section and Mrs. McKay, of Henderson, the B section.

CARLTON CLUB

There was a large gathering of members and friends at the opening on Saturday of the Carlton Croquet Club. The. president. Mrs. R. .T. Hamilton, who performed the opening ceremony, said this was the fourth year of the club's activities and she was more than pleased to welcome such a large number of visitors. ' She wished the members a successful and happy season. The pavilion was decorated lavishly in black and gold, the club colours.

DARGAVILLE CLUB.

At the eighth {jnnual meeting of the Durgaville Croquet Club the president, Mrs. S. G. Barker, stated that the credit balance was £32 9/10. The lawns were in excellent condition, and it was proposed to reduce the liability 011 the property by £10, leaving only £70 owing. During the year the club had aunexed the Phillips' Shield l'rorn Whangarei. Trophies were won during the year by Mrs. S. G. Mitchell (championship), Mrs. N. O. White (runnerup), Mrs. D. L. Ross and Miss A. Stanawav (handicap doubles), Miss Washer (B handicap), and Mrs. W. A. Peterson (ladder competition). The following officers were elected:— President, Mrs. W. A. Peterson ; vice-presi-denf, Mrs. L. R. Capp: secretary, Mrs. D. L. Ross: committee. Mesdames W. A. Peterson, L. R. Capp, S. X. Hayes, S. G. Mitchell, D. A. Williams, H. B. Arroitage, C. H. Crump, D. L. Ross and M?ss Washer; caretaker, Mr. G. Paton.

TE AWAMUTU CLUB,

TE AWAMUTU, this clay. The Te Awamutn Croquet Club's season was opened on Saturday by the Mayor, Mr. C. G. Downes. The club president, Mrs. 11. dc L. Peake, put the first ball through the hoop. Progressive croquet and clock golf were played. Mrs. Battson (Te Awamutu) won the A section for progressive croquet, Mrs. 11. C. Rainey (Te Awamutu) the B section. Mrs. McKenzie (Te Kuiti) won the clock golf.

THE PAPAKURA CLUB,

The Papakura Croquet Club's greens were opened on Saturday. There was a good attendance, including representatives of neighbouring clubs. Mrs. E. D. McLennan played the first ball, while Mjss Cooper president of the club, gave a short address'
