A DANGEROUS PRACTICE.
Several times when I have been an tram cars I have noticed the motorraan;: leave his controls while the car is in motion, travelling at a steady pace, and alter tie direction sign, after which he swings out on to the edge of the platform to look up at the sign to make sure it is adjusted correctly...--i# think that in the interests of public safety this is not a wise thing to do, especially neara terminus, where motor and pedestrian tramo,. is always more or less congested. What wmp happen if a motorman slipped off the tram, a thing which could very ea^,g% ST(^
