TE AROHA JOTTINGS.

TEA TIME RECOMMISSIONED. GLENSTAR GETTING BACK TO FORM. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, this day. The Te Aroha entrants for the WaiHunt meeting are Black Maire, Volimond, Dainty Arch, Belle Star, Glenstar, Taumai, Gay Comet Sir Hussell and Archeen. Since being raced at the Avondale meeting William of Orange has shown a marked improvement in the manner in which he is working, and may yet redeem his early promise. He has lost a deal of his surplus condition and there is now little doubt as to his soundness. Mr. Rhodes Wallace's two-year old by Lapidary has been named Intaglio. He is thriving on the work allotted him, and by autumn should be in nice racing trim. After a spell of over seven months Tea Time has been reconnnissioned, and so far is being given slow work. He has been especially well cared for during his extended holiday, and as he is one that comes to hand quickly should be again carrying silk before long. Considering that it is only a few weeks since he was broken in the Acre two-year-old Leasehold is taking to his track duties very kindly. He is the only one of this breed to be trained locally, and naturally interest is being taken in the way he shapes. Apparently Trainer G. Reid will not hurry him, so it is quite probable that he will be better as a three-year-old than at two. G. A. Reid has a yearling by AcreLady Sykes that is being well cared for. It will be put into work in due course, and may be found racing as a two-year-old. Both Glenison and Miss Albyn in A.E. Cox's string are progressing satisfactorily, and when quite ready should be able to take their places in better than ordinary company. They have not been nominated for the Waikato Hunt meeting but will line up at Te Rapa the following month. Glenstar is now fining down splendidly and may not be long before he can show his form of last season. He is being allotted plenty of long work, which he negotiates very well. Trig seems to have recovered from the effects of his dental trouble, and is again back' at work. He is carrying the right racing condition, and is very fresh and well. •.. Mr. N. Kinn'fi two-year-old gelding by General Latour —Miss Rosa has been named All Soult. Judging by Vis work on the tracks he should make good. On conformation he is, very difficult to fault as he has. strength, good bone, quality and gameness. Miss Rosa is by Santa Rosa from an Explosion mare, whose dam was by King Quail, so All Soult possesses winning strain. Since performing at Avondale last month, where he showed pace. Crown Arch has made progress, and is decidedly more racy in appearance. It is probable that he may come out as a stayer at the end of the season. On Thursday morning the tracks, especially the ploueh. were on the heavy side.' Good working gallops were resjfitercel by Glenstar, Wee Prince, Trig, Crown Arch. Leasehold, Terrapeen. Te Anuranga. Black Maire, Glenison, Miss Albyn, Dainty Arch. Intaglio. All Soult, Lucky Alice," Bert Hinkler, Master Latour," Unique, Grand Arch and Muskot. Gay Comet put in two rounds at good three-quarter pace, and was anxious to so faster. This son of Day Comet is Very well. Belle Star and Sir Russell were to have gone together over half a mile, but the former broke away too soon, skinning over the distance very freely. Sir Russell ran it out in 52 2-s*. King La t> and Archeen were assneia ixjl in a half mile spin, the former being in front at the finish in 525. The Day Comet —Poi two-year-old was on the track, but was not worked. Tea Time was trotted three times round the plough. Quite one of the fittest of the locallytrained horses is Grand Arch in M. Lipsey's stable. When started at Te Rapa lie may be depended unon to run a good race, especially if well placed. Muskot, in the same establishment, has not settled down to his work as well misrht be wished, but is worth persevering with as he has given evidence of possessing pnee.
