MENTAL PATIENT ESCAPES.
■ • (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MERCER, this day.. While being conveyed by friends in a motor car to Tokonui, a mental defective, aged 40 years, escaped in the vicinity of Rangiriri about 8 a.m. to-day. He is 6ft high, weighs 13 stone, and is very lame. He was wearing a so.ft felt hat and a dark suit.
