The area shut up for seed on the Akaroa Peninsula was about the 6ame as last year, viz., 11,000 acres. The quality was a great improvement on that of the previous year, the germination tests being exceptionally high. The market opened at from 8d to B%d. and has remained firm throughout the season- One bright espect of Akaroa eeed is the fact that shipments have been made to London at present high prices.
