"LET ME HAVE A GO."

BRITISH MANUFACTURERS. COMMISSIONER'S APPEAL. Mr. L. A. Paish, British Trade Commissioner, speaking at Wanganui, appealed to the New Zealand 'business man to co-operate with him regarding British goods. If they heard complaints he asked that they should i.ot let them fester in their minds. If thev brought the complaints to his office he ■would see that the manufacturer was; told about them, through the Department of Overseas Trade, London. That body was composed of experts who could go and talk to the manufacturers and know what they were talking about. "If you get a strong selling line of foreign goods with no British line to compete with it," please let me know," said Mr. Paish. "I quite realise that the retailers must sell the good; in demand, whether British or foreign, but if you can't find a Britieh article to compete let me have a go and see if I can. I think we can supply goods that can compete with the'beat of foreign products. "I have come out here full of hope," he concluded. "Britain is optimistic. We have an abiding faith in the future ofour couutrv in the skill of our workmeij. and in the quality of ** e S° ods .f ; i manufacture." , • .. :""
