Mr. E. J. Thayer, of Napier, is an assiduous collector of used stamps, which he sends every year to Dr. Barnardo's Home, where they are sold by the home authorities and the proceeds used in the cause of the orphan children there. Mr. Tliayer recently dispatched a consignment of 71.700 stamps, which brings his total for the past 22 years of collection to 3,000,870. Mr. Tliayer has received a special letter from the home authorities warmly thanking liini for his, labour of love over suck a Ion" period of years. °
