CURFEW IN PALESTINE I Restoring Semblance Of Order In Jerusalem. BITTER FEELING PREVAILS. (United Service.) (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, September 20. * l The "Daily Mail's" special corres- » pondenfc at Jerusalem says that ' though the authorities have succeeded I in restoring some semblance of order i in Jerusalem, the precautions which ' are still deemed necessary suggest i that confidence hangs by a slender hair. The curfew has been extended until 9 p.m., bu,t the new order again enacts that it is still illegal for anybody to carry a weapon or even a stick. This has resulted in even walkingsticks disappearing, for fear of thenattracting the attention of the police, who have the widest powers to arrest without warrant. Public assemblies are still prohibited. The authorities are convinced that Bolsheviks played a big part in the disturbances. Several Communists were arrested in a Haifa raid last night. Bitter . feeling between the Jews and the Arabs still prevails.
