STIRRING ADVENTURE.
Prospectors For Gold In New Guinea. BRUSH WITH NATIVES. SYDNEY, September 18. Tho members of a party of goldseekers who arrived at Sydney to-day from Papua tell a stirring story of their adventures while prospecting in the Tauri River region. The way was difficult. It led over towering limestone mountains. Though the natives were outwardly friendly really they were hostile. One party was compelled to. fire on the natives, who frequently left bunches of arrows in the white men's path as a sign that they were to turn back. Some Kukuku tribesmen, who are head hunters, made two attacks on the prospectors' camp but were repelled.
