A CROCODILE INVASION. FILMING STORY CUT SHORT. ANIMALS FEAST ON SUPPLIES. 1- BOAT SAVES PLAYERS. • Unexpected realism has attended the efforts of a group of American film players, who, on location on the banks of the Nile near Murchison Falls, are | gracing the adventures of "Trader Horn," for they came near to providing a substantial meal for a school of crocodiics, states a message to the New York "Tribune" from Nairobi, Kenya Colony. They are members of a company sent out by Metro-Goldwyn to film the romantic pages of the Gold Coast sage's experiences. The company which is making the film is under the direction of jVVilliam Vandyke, and the scene of their joperations is about sixty miles from the source of the Nile. 11 Having pitched camp at the base of

a canyon, the company proceeded to "shoot'" the required scenes. Delays on account of rainy weather were inevitable, jwhile a particularly heavy storm, accompanied by a cloudburst, kept all members of the party in camp. I Unnoticed by them, a large quantity of water gathered in the canyon behind them. This was considerably swollen by the cloudburst, with the result that it suddenly washed through a gorge and poured down on the camp. 'Tents, per' sonal belongings, cameras, films and expensive sound reproducing apparatus were swept away into the river, which was also littered with the company's food supplies. This attracted a score of _ crocodiles to the spot, where they enjoyed an unexpected feast. : ' It was, in fact, because of the InrV»c quantity of food the reptiles wore nh'o to consume that they postponed visiting the sodden camp itself. The radio also having been destroyed, the party were isolated, and. except for the prearranged visit of the river boat they had tered, their position might have become most dangerous.
