local management. TEAMS TO TRAVEL <<<AUCKLAND RULES" LETTER. DISCUSSION AGAIN DEFERRED. Members of the Auckland Rugby Union's management committee last evening again decided to defer discussion of the letter from the New Zealand Union regarding the so-called "Auckland rules," pending the return to health of Mr. H. Frost. Authority was given for a third-grade intermediate representative team to be eent to Pukekohe on Saturday week. Permission was given the City Club to travel to Waihi on Saturday. It was decided to allow the Ponsonby and Technical Old Boys' Clubs to play a floodlight match at Blandford Park next week, provided a statement of receipts and payments was forwarded to the union. A recommendation that an A representative team be sent to Thames on October 5 was adopted. * The following ground officials were appointed for Saturday: Show Grounds, Messrs. Hoare and Redmond; Point Chevalier, Mr. Worsfoldj Domain, Mr. Matthews; Onehunga, Mr. Heighway.

WAIKATO UNION.

SEASON'S REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. The Waikato Union has concluded Its season with a record of having played twelve representative fixtures. Of these four were won, seven lost, and one drawn, points for being 129, against _ 191. Thfr Individual results were:—v. King Country, won 27 to 8; v. Auckland, lost 17 to 25; v. Auckland, lost 0 to 30; v. Hawke's Bay, drawn 11 to 11; v. Wairoa, lost 6 to 8; v. East Coast, won 15 to 11; v. Poverty Bay, lost 3to 16; v. Bay of Plenty, lost 8 to 21; v. Hawke's Bay, lost 3 to 11; v. Thames Valley, won 12 to 11; v. Canterbury, won 21 to 17; v. Wellington, lost 6to 22. It is rather remarkable that during the season the selector chose no less than fiftyfour players for representative honours. Of these thirty-one were members of Hamilton senior teams. The union played no B rep. fixtures.

WHANGAREI ASSOCIATION.

WHANGAREI, Wednesdny. v At the annual meeting of the Whangarei Cricket Association, the report of the president (Mr. H. Flewellyn) stated that the past season was n very important one for cricket in Whangarei and for North Auckland. The ground committee had made a determined effort to provide a permanent ground, and a lease under very favourable terms had been signed with the harbour board for 21 years, with a right of renewal for a further 21 years. Up to date £-97 15/ had been spent on the new ground, and there was still £60 in hand in the ground account out of the original- sum of £306 10/ obtained from the joint queen carnival with the hockey association. The balance sheet showed that the season had been an expensive one, mainly owing to the visit and entertainment of representative teams. Beginning the season with a balance of £14 14/ the association had liabilities amounting to £10 16/ at the close. The election of officers resulted : Patron, Mr. A. J. Murdoch. M.P.: president, Mr. E. T. Gash; secretary and treasurer, Mr. ]R. E. Danes; auditor. Mr. R. R. Roseman; grounds committee, Messrs. G. L. Whimp, A. Drever, R. Jennings, B. Flewellyn and W. G. Grove. The presentation of a gold medal, donated by Mr. Flewellyn to the player who took, most catches during last season was made to" E. T. Gash.
