OPOTIKI. In the report to ho presented at the annual meeting of-the Opotiki Dairy Association, to be lielcl on Thursday, the directors congratulate shareholders on the results of the past Owing to the fairly good weather con-. ditions throughout the season, there has been a marked increase in production. fThe output of butter totalled 1500 tons, as compared with 1313 tons the preceding year, an increase of 14i per cent. The quality of the finished product lias been well maintained. Prices realised for tho whole year were better than the preceding year, although in this respect the local market had been disappointing. Feeling reference was made to the death of Mr. Casement Aickin, sen., head and founder of the firm of Messrs. C. Aickin and Sons (Auckland), Ltd., who had faithfully served the company during the past 2G years. Suppliers have already received 1/6 per lb for the period from August 1 to May 31, and 1/8 for June and July. After making provision for depreciation, the balance available for distribution amounts to £12,308 7/5, from which the directors recommend the payment of a dividend of 0 per cent on all fully paid up capital at July 31, 1928, equalling a further Id per lb on all butterfat, absorbing £11,336 18/0, leaving a'balance of £71 8/11 to he carried forward. This will bring the payments on butterfat for the whole season up to 1/7 for the period August 1 to May 31, and 1/9 for June and July. It is proposed to make, the above payment on October 20, 1929. During the year considerable additions have been made to the factory plant to cope with the increased outI put.
