BREWERY LICENSE.
PROTEST BY ALLIANCE
Strong indignation was expressed at a meeting of the Auckland Council of. the New Zealand Alliance at the failure of the Government to take action against the establishment of a brewery on the main highway near Otahuhu. The building was described as a small unpretentious structure, evidently intended as a depot for the sale of twogallon kegs of beer to passing motorists. It was contended that the establishment of the brewery as an open liquor warehouse would induce motorists to purchase and consume two-gallon quantities of liquor with dire results. The Alliance council determined to continue its protest against the brewery, and to urge the Government to introduce legislation which would cancel the license and prevent any similar occurrence in future.
