Staples five for 118) in the first innings against tlie M.C.C. team which toured Australia. They followed on to made 271 for eight (Duleepsinhji 55, Sandham 57, Allen 75, Haig 53). S. Staples took six for 70. In their first innings the M.C.C. team made 459 for four. The match was drawn.
