TAXI FARES "CUT."
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHKISTCHURCH, Tuesday. Five persons for a mile for 1/3 is the rate at -which Checker cabs will take passengers during the taxi-cab "war." Mr. W °Hayward, manager of the company, stated that his company had tried to work under the award, and was still working under it, but it was determined to carry on its business and would do so by cutting the fares to 3d below the charge made by anyone else. "What will the outcome be?" Mr. Hayward was asked. "The Bankruptcy Court," he replied, "or an alterattcm of the award."
