Mr. Preston Chambers has returned from a trip to Christchurch and the West Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Mcllutchinson (New Plymouth), Mr. J. Hunter (Dargaville), Mr. A. Cook (Wellington), are at the Albert Hotel. Major T. J. King, ordnance officer at G.H.Q., Wellington, arrived by the Limited to-day on store inspection duties at Ngaruawahia and Auckland. Royal Hotel guests include Mr. D. M. Stewart (Dunedin), Mr. F. A. Wilkinson (Gisborne), Mr. Geo. Wansbone (Dargaville), Mr. B. Power (Wellington).
Mr. Alexander Paul, sub-manager at Wellington of the Bank of New South Wales, will retire on superannuation at the end of this month, after over 50 years' continuous service.
Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Power Board, went South by the Limited last evening to attend a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board in Wellington to-day.

Mr. Douglas Standage, for twentyseven years on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand and for the past three years and a-half manager of the Timaru branch of that institution, has this month taken up Ms new position as general manager of the Mount Cook Motor Company, Limited, and the Tongariro Tourist Company, Limited. Mr. Standage is at present at tlfe head office in Timaru, but at the end of September he will take up his residence at the Chateau, Tongariro National Park, and will remain there for the next few months.
