SPEEDY NATIVE PRINCE. THE FINAL WORKOUTS. INTERESTING MORNING AT EPSOM. FIRST FLIGHT SHOWS SPEED. The- conditions at Epsom were ideal this niorning and with the track in excellent order some interesting work was accomplished by horses engaged on Saturday. There was a good attendance of spectators. Before breakfast 0. G. Lee Worked his team, W. Kerr worked Uncle Bert two miles at a solid Clip With tho hopples on, and Sweet Memory was driven useful work by S. Hoe.

The treat of the morning as regard* speed was provided after breakfast when Native Prince (Shaw),.unhoppled, after being warmed up, jumped off at tho mile peg. A furlong further on First Flight (McKendrick) was going at top about two lengths in front. The pair clapped tho pace on, and at the halfmile Native Prince was almost alongside First Flight. Along the back they were at top, and in tho straight Native Prince- went past First Flight to beat her by a. couple of lengths. Native Prince ran his last half in 1.3 1-5, Which is some going for an unhoppled pacer. On the other hand the performance of the three-year-old First Flight was one of the best, seeing that she has not yet started in a race. Her mile was covered in smart time, the last half in 1.5. She looks like being a worthy candidate ill the Derby at Christmas. She is engaged On Saturday, but Want of racing experience may tell against het. Another fine piece df work Was nessed when Explosion (Julian) and jewel Pointer (Laver) jogged round to the mile and a*hal£ peg. Ju&t behind them were Carniel (Shaw) and Warplane (Fairnian). They were to go in couples but while Explosion began Well, Jewel Pointer , pig*jumped and did not settle down until Explosion Was some lengths ahead. Explosion's mile was 2.27 4-5, and he had only a shade the best of JeWel Pointer and Cartnel turning fbr home. In the run up the straight all Were allowed to do their best, and at the finish Explosion had half a length the best of Carmel and Jewel Who Were together. Explosien's tifne for" the Mile and a-half Was 3.32 3=5, his last half being run in 1.5 2=6. Caffflel weiitt his mile and a-half in 3.2?. 4-& It was an attractive eifoit 6n i%e part of all thiee.

Nebraska arid Gf. Mitchell's trotters, put iii a lot of work Without making time;

Special Bell (Julian) was worked about two miles but he did. not trot well and left his feet several times* .

Potty's Picture (Mitchell), with the hopplee on, started out to go two miles with Goldman (Roe), who was freelegged. Goldman went away from her over the last mile, but she was not knocked about. Goldman recorded 4.52, and was eight seconds in front of Polly's Picture, but she was not doing her best. The last mile aiid a-half Goldman ran in 3.33, and the last half in 1.9.

Arachne Worked out the best part of two miles, going very nicely all through. One mile she ran in 2.18 4-6.

Gold Jacket (A. Bryce) and Torpedo HUori (McMahon) were associated over a mile and a-quarter. Torpedo Huon jumped away three lengths in front, and the first quarter was cast behind in 32 4-ss, the mile was reached in 2.14, find then Gold Jacket was with Torpedo' Huon. They swung into the straight on terms, but over the last bit Gold Jacket drew ahead to win by a couple of lengths in 2.46, the last half-mile being run in 1.4. Gold Jacket finished up well, but Torpedo Huoil did not appear to go as smoothly as usual. Tradesman wad sent two miles. Driven by S. Roe he. ran the last mile in 2.17 3-5.
