CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS.
In company with numerous other ratepayers on Thursday evening, I attended the City Council meeting. As usual, the miserable apology for a public gallery failed to provida seating accommodation for all present. Owin" to the packed condition of the gallery it i" a, moot question who suffered the. most inconvenience, those standing or those packed in the seats like sardines in a box. It certainly is a surprise to me that some councillor did not appeal to his Worship the Mayor to invite those standing to seats on the floor of the council chamber. Thirty years ago I was a member of a London suburban council. We always. welcomed the presence of ratepayers at our meetings and used every endeavour to provide seating accommodation for all attending. Courtesy is cheap and always appreciated. F. BIRCH CLARK,
