SERVICE TO DAIRYING.
MR. BLACKETT'S RETIREMENT
RECOGNISED BY SUPPLIERS
Arrangements have been made by the suppliers of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Ltd., in the southwestern electoral district to present Mr. T. C. Blackett, who has just retired from the directorate' of the company, with an illuminated address, and to present Mrs. Blackett with a beautiful silver tea service from suppliers. Those signing the address etate that the part taken by Mr. Blackett in 1901 in converting the New Zealand Dairy Association into a co-operative company assisted lit laying the foundation of practical co-operation in the industry throughout the Auckland Province, while the ability which Mr. Blackett subsequently displayed as a director of the association contributed in a great measure to the success which followed the general adoption of co-operative principles. Gratitude is expressed to Mr. Blackett for the assistance given in. the formation of the N6w Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., and his strong adherence to and support of the co-operative movement especially during the trying period of amalgamation, is expressed. It is stated that Mr. Blackett's work had materially assisted toward the present prosperity of many thousands, —of dairy farmers throughout the Auckland Province.
