AMBULANCE COLLECTION
next FRIDAY'S APPEAL, MINIMUM OF £1600 NEEDED. The St. John Ambulance will make its annual appeal for funds next Friday in the streets of the city and suburbs. Various overhead expenses require a minimum annual income of £1600, to which the public is asked to contribute. Remembering many services given freely by members of the organisation, particularly in the direction of sport, a geneious response can be expected. In the past year ambulance nurses paid 7467 visits to poor patients, and treated 805 out-patienta at the station. Accident cases numbered 1279, while 3130 waterfront cases were attended to.
