BRITAIN AND PARITY.
MUST SINK MANY CRUISERS. (Australian Press Assii.—United Service.) (Received 10 a.m.) . WASHINGTON, August 1. In a statement on Thursday Senator Borah, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate, called on Great Britain to sink some of her ships as a means of reaching parity with the American navy. Ho said Britain had 59 modern cruiscrs and America eighteen built or building. Mr. Borah was a guest of President Hoover at lunch on Wednesday. It is presumed that the impending naval limitations conference was discussed.
