England To Australia Trip In
24 Hours.

LONDON, July 22. Sir Alliott V. Roe, of the firm which manufactures Avro aeroplanes, to-day expressed the opinion that achievement, in aviation was only beginning. "Within 50 years," he said, "a flight from Britain to Australia in less than 24 hours will he commonplace. "Machines will travel at tremendous speeds in the upper atmosphere. In the future aeroplanes • will travel like rockets at a rate of 400 miles- an hour. "Already machines are being designed which will reach the maximum of their power at 25,000 feet. Passengers will travel in hermetically sealed cabins which will maintain the normal air pressure 0f.91b a foot. "Air travel will supersede other forms because it will be the most comfortable and the safest. Multiple-engined amphibian machines will be used."
