Parliament Rises On Friday For

Long Recess

RADIUM GRANT ASKED

RUGBY, July 22.

The Government hopes that the outstanding Parliamentary business will be concluded on Friday to enable the House to adjourn for the long summer recess. Matters remaining include the third reading of the Housing Bill, providing for the revision of housing subsidies, and the Development Bill, which deals with loan guarantees and grants for schemes connected with unemployment. Statements upon the naval policy, and the conversations regarding disarmament are expected to be made by the Prime Minister before the House adjourns. Members will also be asked to approve the supplementary estimates amounting to £200.000, of which about £100,000 will be contributed to the National Radium Trust, the remainder going to the National Gallery to assist the-purchase of Milton Diptych' and Titian's picture of the Cormaro family. The grant in respect of radium is made on the basis of £1 for every £1 provided by voluntary contribution to augment the supply for. the treatment of "the sick and for the advancement of knowledge in undergoing such treatment.
