AUCKLAND SESSION OPENED.

The Native Land Court to-day opened its periodic session in the Manchester Unity Buildings in Hobson Street, under the presidency of Judge McCorrnack. a large, number of Maoris from the kato ' and Hauraki districts were in attendance. The business consists largely of p ar . titions concerning blocks of land, siicce-*. sion to deceased natives' interests and over 30 applications affecting titles to land. Some of these are of a contention* nature, and the Court will be busily occupied for the vest of this week. The Maori Land Board is to sit in Auckland on August (i, when it will formally deal with alienations by way'of sale and lease of lands.
