EXTENSION OF FACILITIES. PROVISION FOR PLAYERS. FIRST REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURE. At the weekly meeting of the Auckland Rugby League last evening the chairman (Mr. George Rhodes) said the conditions at Carlaw Park on Saturday were regrettably bad, and it was realised that something had to be done immediately by Way of providing proper and adequate facilities for the players. Arrangements were in hand to increase the showers and add hot-water installations. Whatever was done, it was hoped would bo appreciated by the clubs as a temporary measure pending the starting of the League's big scheme -for ground improvements. Reference was made to the urgency of the proposal in the interests of players, who had been most patient and loyal for several ytfars. The Devonport delegate said his - club now shared the expense of a. bus, and the team went to the Tepid Baths after each match. Anotliet" delegate said that hot water provision Was required for curtain-raiser and other teams, which did not desire to leave the ground. It was decided that no roatclieis be played on No. 2 ground at Carlaw Park next Saturday. , In response to a request from the Mount Wellington Club, it was decided to stage a special fixture on the Westfield ground at the earliest opportunity. No B grade matches are to be played on the 27th inst. Mr. Doble, the delegate on . the New Zealand Council, reported that the Australian team for England would arrive on Monday, July 29, by the Aorangi, and arrangements were being made/to extend the tourists a fitting reception and send-off to England. The transfer of Revell, of Ponsonby, to Kingsland-Athletic seniors was granted. The South Auckland League acknowledged the allocation of the match against Auckland for the Northern Union Cup at Carlaw Park on Saturdayweek. The South Auckland team would arrive that morning. A third grade Auckland 'team will meet South Auckland in the curtain-raiser. On the suggestion of Mr. Fox, the Auckland team against South Auckland is to wear Newton colours, red and white, to enable a more effective contrast iu the colours.
