ARCHBISHOP OF MELBOURNE
MELBOURNE, July 12.
It is understood that the Electoral Board of the Anglican Synod, which is dealing with the selection of a new Archbishop of Melbourne, in succession to the late Dr. Harrington Lees, proposes to offer the vacant see to the Rev. Travers Guy Rogers, Rector of Birmingham, and a chaplain to the King.
The Rev. Travers Guy Rogers has been Rector of Birmingham since 1925. He was at Trinity College, Dublin. His first curacy was in Dublin, and he was later at Monkstown, St. Barnabas, Kensington, Holy Trinity, Marylebone and vicar of St. Stephen's, Reading, 1909-15. He was for some time a chaplain to the Forces, and from 1916 to 1925 Vicar of West Ham. He has published various brooks, including "The Inner Life," and he contributed to the Liberal Evangelical Essays, 1923, and 1925. He married Miss Inez Hartley, of Sunningdale, in 1924.

The Australian Press Association interviewed Canon Rogers regarding lie rumour from Melbourne of his appointment to the vacant see of Melbourne. Canon Rogers stated: "I know nothing whatever about it."
