MR. A. H. WILSON, OF THAMES.

THAMES, this day.

A large gathering, representative of both, town and country, attended a dinner given in honour of.Mr. A. H .Wilson, who has been manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Thames for ten years, and has been promoted to Gisborne. Eulogistic, references were made, by the Mayor, Mr. W. Bongard, to Mr. Wilson's Work in the interests of the town and district. He said it was keenly felt that Mr. Wilson had been the mainstay of the farmers in time of stress. The Mayor presented Mr. Wilson with a silver sAlver, subscribed for by a large circle of his friends. Mr. C. W. Harris, chairman of the Plains County Council, made reference to Mr. Wilson's work in promoting the settlement of new country. In the afternoon the local bank staff presented Mr. Wilson with a crystal spirit set as a token of their esteem.
